Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) formerly known as (RCIA) introduces the Catholic faith to those Adults who are interested in becoming Catholic. The program also is intended for those young children over the age of 7 and are unbaptized and who wish to enter into the Catholic faith. OCIA prepares all interested candidates for the sacraments of initiation which include, Baptism, 1st Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
The program is a process, which includes stages of inquiry, acceptance, catechumen, and elect and then reception of the sacraments. The OCIA ministry invites all baptized adults and young adults who are in need of 1st Holy communion and Confirmation. This ministry is an active ministry in our parish and is always looking for Catechists to assist in the formation of all interested in entering into the Catholic Faith.
Coordinator for OCIA is needed.
Catechist is needed to teach school age children.
Continuing Formation – Continuing Formation recognizes those individuals who have been Baptized into the Catholic Faith and have not completed the sacraments of Initiation of 1st holy communion and Confirmation.
Adult Confirmation, the Archdiocese of Santa Fe recognizes that there are adults who have not completed this sacrament. As part of Adult Catechism, OCIA helps prepare adults over the age of 19 for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Length of this program is 12-14 weeks.
